Project Overview
A food manufacturing enterprise generates a large volume of food processing wastewater during production. The project is designed with a daily treatment capacity of 500 m³ of food wastewater. The raw wastewater exhibits typical characteristics of food wastewater, including high organic content, high suspended solids, and animal and vegetable oils.
Influent water quality:
- COD: 2200–2800 mg/L
- BOD₅: 1100–1500 mg/L
- SS: 700–900 mg/L
- Animal and vegetable oils: 180–260 mg/L
The project strictly implements the Grade I standard of the Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard (GB 8978-1996). Effluent quality meets discharge standards consistently and satisfies environmental supervision requirements.
Process Flow & Core Equipment
This project adopts a specialized treatment process for food wastewater:
Grid Pretreatment → Oil Separation & Sedimentation → Dissolved Air Flotation → Hydrolysis Acidification → A²/O-MBBR Biochemical Treatment → Deep Sedimentation → Disinfection
Core Equipment Models & Configurations
1. Rotary fine grid, 5 mm grid gap
2. Horizontal flow oil separation sedimentation tank
3. DAF-35 dissolved air flotation unit, treatment capacity 35 m³/h
4. Equalization tank equipped with submersible mixers and online pH monitoring system
5. Hydrolysis acidification tank + HRT high-efficiency biochemical system
6. A²/O-MBBR integrated wastewater treatment equipment with dedicated biological carriers
7. High-efficiency inclined tube sedimentation tank with automatic PAC & PAM dosing system
8. Terminal disinfection system
Treatment Performance & Operational Data
After commissioning, the food wastewater treatment system achieves stable and excellent performance:
- Effluent COD: 45–58 mg/L
- Effluent SS: 15–19 mg/L
- Animal and vegetable oils: 6–9 mg/L
- Overall COD removal rate ≥ 98%
- SS removal rate ≥ 98%
- Oil removal rate ≥ 96%
The complete food wastewater treatment system operates stably, features strong resistance to water quality fluctuations, and maintains long-term, continuous compliance. It meets environmental inspection, online monitoring, and data traceability requirements.
