Skid-mounted MVR (Mechanical Vapor Recompression) evaporator is an integrated, modular and rapidly deployable high-efficiency evaporation and concentration equipment independently developed by BHP Environmental Protection. By mechanically recompressing secondary steam to upgrade its enthalpy for recycling, the equipment greatly reduces raw steam consumption and achieves efficient concentration and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) of high-salinity and high-concentration industrial wastewater.
Fully integrated on a skid foundation without complex civil engineering, it can be installed and put into operation quickly. It is specially designed for high-difficulty wastewater treatment in new energy, chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries, serving as core equipment for industrial wastewater resource utilization and zero discharge.

Performance Introduction

 1. Working Principle

The core principle of MVR evaporator ismechanical vapor recompression technology:

1. Wastewater enters the evaporator and boils at low temperature under vacuum, producing secondary steam;

2. The secondary steam is adiabatically compressed by a roots or centrifugal compressor to increase temperature, pressure and enthalpy;

3. The heated steam returns to the heating chamber as a heat source to continuously evaporate the wastewater;

4. Steam condenses into reusable water, while wastewater is concentrated continuously to realize solid-liquid separation, reduction and resource treatment of high-salinity wastewater.


The system only requires a small amount of raw steam for startup; almost no extra steam is needed during operation. Energy consumption is only 1/5 to 1/3 of traditional multi-effect evaporators, greatly lowering operating costs.


 2. Application Scope

Skid-mounted MVR evaporator is widely applied to various high-salinity and high-concentration industrial wastewater scenarios:

- New energy industry: lithium battery wastewater, electrolyte wastewater, photovoltaic & energy storage high-salt wastewater

- Chemical industry: high-salt chemical wastewater, salt-containing mother liquor, high-concentration organic wastewater

- Electroplating & electronics: plating wastewater, PCB wastewater, semiconductor high-salt cleaning wastewater

- Pharmaceutical industry: pharmaceutical mother liquor, high-salt pharmaceutical wastewater, API production wastewater

- Food industry: high-salt food processing wastewater, salt-containing fermentation waste liquid

- Environmental protection: landfill leachate, ZLD of high-salt industrial wastewater, pretreatment for reclaimed water reuse

- Others: concentration treatment of various high-TDS, high-COD and refractory industrial wastewater


 3. Equipment Composition

The skid-mounted MVR evaporator adopts anintegrated skid structure, with core modules integrated on one base, ready for operation after connecting water and electricity on site:

1.Main evaporation module: falling film / rising film evaporator, separator for efficient evaporation and vapor-liquid separation

2.Vapor compression module: roots or centrifugal steam compressor as core power unit

3.Heat exchange & circulation module: plate / tubular heat exchanger, circulation pump for efficient heat transfer

4.Condensation & separation module: condenser, condensate tank, gas-liquid separator for condensate recovery

5.Vacuum system module: vacuum pump, buffer tank to maintain low-temperature evaporation environment

6.Control system module: PLC + touch screen automatic control with online monitoring and adjustment

7.Auxiliary module: feed pump, discharge pump, dosing system, cleaning system, skid base and valves


 4. Key Features & Advantages

1.Ultra-low energy consumption:Only a small amount of starting steam is needed; operating cost is reduced by more than 60% compared with traditional evaporation systems.

2.Skid-mounted integration, fast deployment: Fully assembled and factory-commissioned; ready for operation within 72 hours without complex civil work.

3.Fully automatic operation:PLC intelligent control, unattended running, automatic parameter adjustment and fault alarm.

4.Low-temperature evaporation:Operating at 40–80°C under vacuum, avoiding material decomposition and scaling, suitable for heat-sensitive liquids.

5.Modular design, flexible expansion:Customizable capacity and easy to expand according to on-site water volume and treatment demands.

6.Corrosion-resistant materials:Wetted parts made of 316L, titanium alloy, Hastelloy, etc., ensuring long service life in high-salt and corrosive conditions.

7.High water recovery rate: Condensate recovery rate ≥95%, reusable for production; supports zero liquid discharge (ZLD).

8.International certification:Compliant with UL, CE, ISO standards, suitable for North American, European and global industrial projects.
