Tianneng Taijiang Base MVR Evaporator Wastewater Project
Tianneng's Taijiang base needed a reliable solution for concentrating high-salinity battery-production wastewater. Baihuipu supplied and commissioned a mechanical vapor recompression (MVR) evaporator system that recovers distilled water and reduces the residual brine volume dramatically.
Why MVR Was Chosen
Battery wastewater often contains high dissolved solids that make biological treatment ineffective.
MVR evaporation uses a compressor to reuse vapor heat, cutting energy demand compared to conventional evaporators.
The technology is well suited for zero-liquid-discharge (ZLD) or near-ZLD battery plants.

System Configuration
Baihuipu provided a forced-circulation MVR evaporator with titanium heat exchanger tubes and a centrifugal vapor compressor.
Pre-treatment included equalization, pH correction, and hardness reduction to protect the evaporator.

A centrifuge and drying step was added to produce a solid salt cake for disposal or recovery. Much of this mirrors the situation set out in Molasses Distillery Spent Wash (Vinasse) Treatment.
Site Installation and Commissioning
The evaporator was installed on a prepared concrete foundation with integrated catchment and sump.
Baihuipu technicians aligned the compressor, checked vibration, and balanced the circulation loop.

Commissioning included salt-concentration tests, compressor performance mapping, and control-loop tuning. A related discussion worth reading here is lithium-ion battery recycling wastewater treatment.
Performance Results
The system reached the design evaporation rate and distillate conductivity targets.

Concentrate solids content met the specification for downstream drying. We have written about the downstream implications separately in Magnesium Production Wastewater Treatment system.
Energy consumption remained within the guaranteed range throughout the acceptance test.
What This Looks Like in Practice
We commissioned a 10 m³/day plant for this duty in Fuyang, Anhui back in 2022. Feed COD came in around 17,938 mg/L and left at 150 mg/L — 99.2% removal. The train was Fenton + UASB anaerobic + denitrification + contact oxidation + MBR.
| Location | Year | Flow | Feed COD | Treated COD | Removal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fuyang, Anhui | 2022 | 10 m³/d | 17,938 mg/L | 150 mg/L | 99.2% |
Figures are site-measured values from commissioned plants, not modelled estimates.
Customer Value
Tianneng reduced its reliance on external brine haulage and freshwater intake.

The recovered distillate was reused in process rinsing, lowering operating costs. The process logic sits close to what is described in Petrol Station UST Remediation, particularly on the pretreatment side.
Baihuipu's MVR solution supported Tianneng's sustainability and compliance goals at Taijiang.
Why Choose Baihuipu as Your Manufacturer
Two decades in this industry teaches you that most treatment problems are procurement problems in disguise. Someone bought the cheapest skid, nobody checked the equalisation volume, and eighteen months on the plant cannot hold its consent limit. We build differently.
Own Factory, Real Capacity
Tanks, skids, control panels and membrane housings are built in our own Guangdong facility. Nothing critical is subcontracted, which is why we can commit to delivery dates and hold quality across a batch instead of hoping the shop floor gets it right.
Documentation You Can Actually Audit
Each system ships with as-built drawings, material certificates, welding records and a functional specification. If a client's own consultant wants to review the process calculation basis, we hand it over rather than treating it as proprietary.
Certification and Export Practice
CE marking is standard and we work to ISO 9001 procedures. Where a project calls for specific material grades, pressure vessel certification or ATEX-rated equipment, we build to that standard and ship the full documentation pack.
Experience Built the Hard Way
Since the early 2000s we have commissioned plants for food and beverage processors, chemical works, electroplaters, textile mills, mines and municipalities. The lessons that stick are scaling, fouling and sludge handling — those inform every design we issue.
Complete System Responsibility
One supplier, one process guarantee. We take the plant from preliminary screening through to membrane separation, evaporation and brine management, with process, mechanical, electrical and controls engineering handled internally.
Spares, Service and Commissioning
Membranes, dosing pumps, diffusers, instrumentation and blowers are stocked for the systems we sell. Our control systems support remote diagnostics, and we can put an engineer on site for commissioning, training or an unplanned shutdown.
Twenty-Plus Export Markets
We have shipped to the United States, Canada, Russia, Indonesia, India, Nigeria and Vietnam among others. Crating, export documentation and certificates are handled in-house, which keeps customs surprises to a minimum.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you handle sludge from this process?
Sludge handling is where most budgets quietly blow out. We size dewatering against realistic solids production, and we usually recommend a filter press for this duty. The disposal route — landfill, incineration, or a licensed contractor — should be confirmed before commissioning.
Is MVR evaporator battery treatment suitable for water reuse?
Usually yes, once the system configuration stage is stable. Reuse normally means adding membrane polishing to bring conductivity and COD down to your process water specification. We would need to see your reuse water limits to size it properly.
Can you work with our existing equipment?
Often yes. We regularly integrate into existing civil structures where the concrete is sound, replacing internals and controls rather than starting over. We will tell you honestly when legacy kit is beyond economic repair.
